Farewell to Stuart Gray after 26 years
After 26 years working at Scotland’s leading architectural glazing specialists, Gray & Dick is bidding a fond farewell to Director Stuart Gray on the day of his retirement.
Continuing his father’s legacy
The architectural industry has been part of Stuart’s life since birth, with his father Henry Gray working in steel fabrication before going on to found Gray & Dick with partner Crawford Dick in 1978.
Stuart initially pursued other ventures, attending university and working in banking, property and printing. In 1999, Stuart followed in his father’s footsteps, and joined the company to work alongside him and his brother Fraser.

Countless achievements for the business
Over the course of the quarter of a century, Stuart has dedicated himself to the growth and progress of Gray & Dick, stepping into the role of Director to continue his father’s legacy in 2011.
In that time, Stuart has secured countless achievements for the company. His implementation of a factory control system enabled us to gain compliance for the European Conformity (CE) marking of steel used in Gray & Dick architectural glazing projects.
The great outdoors
When Stuart wasn’t hard at work, he was hard at play: a keen mountain biker, golfer, wind surfer and water skier, Stuart Gray spent most of his time not in the office enjoying the great outdoors.
Following his retirement, we expect to see Stuart indulge even more in his adventurous hobbies, and maybe even pick up a couple more to boot!
Please join us in wishing Stuart Gray the very best in his retirement. While we don’t think it’ll be the last we see of Stuart, everyone here at Gray & Dick hopes he enjoys his newfound freedom.
