As a proud authorised sales and distribution partner for Sky-Frame across Scotland and the wider UK, Gray & Dick are passionate about seeing the sliding door systems complementing the beauty of Scotland.
And perhaps nowhere has that been seen than with a recent project in Scaristavore, on the Isle of Harris.
Working with the Lead Architect, Dualchas Architects, Gray & Dick were tasked with supplying the many Sky-Frame windows and sliding doors that feature on the residential property.
The property itself was designed with the environment and rugged Scottish landscape in mind, complementing its surroundings and being constructed with materials and products built to withstand the hot Summers and harsh Winters of the Island.
The result is a contemporary residence, with a traditional feel and stunning views of the Island through the full length, ceiling high sliding door Sky-Frame system and a perfect transition between inside and outside.
A view, not a window
With ceiling-high door panels, as well as organically curved and inclined glass units, Sky-Frame is the key to individual spatial concepts and extraordinary architecture.
True to the Bauhaus vision of “free-flowing space”, the sliding doors open up the living area with a flush transition. Thanks to the timeless frameless door design, the view is elevated to a fascinating design element. The Sky-Frame technology is 100% Swiss-made and stands for precise engineering and the pursuit of the best possible window.
Seamless transition
This makes for unimpeded panoramic views and a s transition from inside to outside. Besides offering aesthetic advantages, the system also meets the highest standards for thermal insulation and safety. Thanks to tracks which can be installed flush with the floor, Sky-Frame doors are ideal for barrier-free and wheelchair-accessible building.
