Gray & Dick are delighted to announce the addition of solar panels and electric vehicle (EV) charging points to our Glasgow offices ahead of the New Year.
Thanks to a grant from Glasgow City Council’s ‘Glasgow Green Deal’ initiative, we have been able to continue our route to net zero. While we are already building our resilience to climate change, February will see the continuation and evolution of this, with the installation of solar panels and EV charging ports.
Glasgow Green Deal is a nine-year mission to transform the Glasgow economy and tackle the climate emergency while reducing the impact of the energy crisis.
In addition to solar panels and EV charging - both of which will help towards carbon outputs - the grant has also allowed Gray & Dick to gain a carbon baseline report.
This report shows us our recent carbon emissions, giving us key insights on where further changes can be made to increase our sustainability efforts and reduce our carbon emissions.
Our Director, Stuart Gray said:
“As a forward thinking business, sustainability is something that is always at the forefront of our thinking. A number of our jobs blend beautiful natural landscapes into the designs, with many requesting insulated glass to minimise the use of heating."
Having been awarded the grant , we’re now in a position to continue making a difference to our visitors and staff with EV charging and solar panels.
Stuart continued:
“More than that, the baseline report has given us clarity on where we currently stand when it comes to our emissions and gives us an actionable target of where we want to get to with our eco-friendly approach.
“It’s allowed us to look at what we can do strategically going forward to ensure that we can continue to deliver high quality, infinitely recyclable architectural glass in a more sustainable way.”
Our Clients
The installation will mean that architects and experts visiting Gray & Dick to discuss their next project can charge their electric vehicles on site - allowing them to contribute to designing and building a greener outlook of their own.
